This week I finally found an orchard that still grows Lodi apples. Years ago, it was pretty popular, one of the first apples of the season, but not it is hard to find.I like it for making applesauce, very tart and flavorful, and my favorite applesauce.
While I was there I picked up sour cherries. When these cherries are ripe they are very sweet, but many times they are picked early for freezing.
This winter, we will be enjoying cherry pic and applesauce.
Now I just have to process them all!
