Noodles Part 2

Now you have to flour a pastry cloth, use a lot of flour.

Then begin rolling out the noodles

Keep going till they are very thin. Now let it rest for a few minutes to dry out some.

Then roll up so that cutting the noodles
is easier

Cut the noodles into thin strips.

Then you seperate them and let them dry for several hours. To finish, drop into boiling broth , either chicken or beef, and cook till done!

Homemade noodles YUM! Part 1

The other day I went over to my mother in laws to learn how to make noodles. Now this is a process with no recipe so it makes it rather hard.
We got the ingredients together.

You beat one egg and then add it to a bowl of flour.

You then begin gently and slowly adding flour to the egg.

Then using your fingers, you begin to knead in small amounts .

You add flour till you get a dough you can pick up .
I really think it is one of those things you have to do again and again till you get it right!

Making butter!

I never know from week to week what I will be shooting. It makes life fun and I love the challenge of taking pictures to illustrate articles.
This shoot was a step by step on how to make butter. I found the challenge to be how to make the shoot colorful. Luckily my friend had a great red mixer and I hauled along my blue graniteware and old blue bowls. I think it made a feast for the eyes! It certainly helped that she has a beautiful kitchen!
