The old grey ghost
The first time I saw her
she stood alone
a part of the past
swiftly being left behind
I wondered
who had loved her
who had played
around her door
Did they have babies
that crawled on her floor
Did they lose loved ones
and mourn within her walls?
Did they find safety
Within the log and mortar
Did she shelter them
From foes and storms?
The last time I saw her
the end was near
she went the way
we all do
when it is our time to go
Her time was over
a piece of the past
loved then left
as we move on

Shenandoah Snow!
Sometimes we forget to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. Day to day problems and issues keep us from looking around.
Once in a while we look up from our desks and are rewarded with an incredible vision of beauty.
