Old Barn

There in the distance is the old barn. Owned by many , loved by none, it is slowly going to ruin. When the grandmother died, she willed to all of her grandchildren and no one can figure out what to do with it.

As the Virginia Creeper slowly covers the structure, it becomes lost in the greenry.

Under the vines is an old form of barn called double crib. This barn happens to be a double crib log barn and has the date 1865 burned into one of the logs.

I hate to see these structures disappear!

Back Road Drive

Spring is the perfect time to go for a drive. One of my favorite back roads has 10 beautiful old barns on it. Now finding a barn that is not only beautiful, but has a beautiful setting is the hard part. Many old barns have a lot of stuff, or should I say, junk sitting around that ruins photos.

This old barn was perfect!
