
If you enjoy blowing bubbles, try blowing them in winter.
Here is what they look like when you first blow them, next to this one is one that has collapsed.

Notice the ice forming at the top of the bubble.

Now crystals are beginning to form at the bottom.

Freezing continues to cover the bubble.

gone! Most bubbles collapse from the weight of the ice.

Fantastic. I liked your comment on SS about telling a story with your photography. Did you know this is what bubbles do when they freeze? I picture you shivering in the cold for hours trying to capture it....
It was cold, I knew that they froze but I never dreamed I would be able to capture the actual freezing, I think this was one of my favorite shoots!

What a great story. I had no idea that bubbles did that. I wonder how cold it has to be? Beautiful images.
It was only about 28 or so, I think if you do it when it is colder, they actually shatter when touched instead of collapsing.
